Thunder Tactical Shooters is a nonprofit organization of private individuals that hosts defensive pistol competitions for the enjoyment of IDPA members in Southeast, Texas.

Our host range "Thunder Gun Range" is located in Montgomery County, north of Houston, between Conroe and Porter off FM1314.  Come out and join a great group of people who enjoy the experience of participating in structured, safe and fun defensive pistol shooting.

HEY LOOK!  Our New Schedule
That's right! Spring has sprung and we all know that it is getting tougher to get on a squad each and every Wednesday night.  In response, the Board of Directors for Thunder Tactical Shooters has hatched a plan to a) make it easier to get on a squad, and b) give you another night to shoot IDPA. 

Man! Are these guys smart, or what?

Starting May 3rd, we will now be offering a Thursday night IDPA match.  Stage designs for Thursday will remain (hold-overs) from the Wednesday night match.  Online Match Signup has also been modified to reflect the new shooting opportunity!

What's not to love?

Find a few friends, go to the Online Match Signup, and be the first kid on your block to shoot IDPA on Thursdays with Thunder Tactical Shooters club.

Wednesday & Thursday Practice Matches

May 16 & 17, 2012

Thunder Tactical Shooters offers two weekly practice matches throughout the year.  These matches are held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings provided the weather cooperates.  Each practice match involves a total of five (5) separate scenarios (stages) offering different types of shooting challenges for shooters of all levels.
 
In addition to a $5 fee paid to Thunder Tactical Shooters for consumable items, each shooter is required to pay a range use fee to Thunder Gun Range.
 
If you are a new shooter, please plan to arrive by 6 pm to attend the "New Shooter's Orientation Meeting."  This meeting discusses the safety issues, rules, and range commands that are used during the match.  The general shooter's meeting and "hammer down" is at 6:30 pm.

Carbine - Pistol

NOTICE: 8 am HAMMER DOWN

A carbine/pistol match is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2012. IDPA rules apply. Concealment not required. We are planning five stages with an estimated round count of 100 carbine and 30 pistol. Concealment is not required. Slings are not required.

Match setup - Friday, 2 PM, April 27th.  (We can always use help with setup)

There are 4 divisions for DMG. There is an iron sight and optic sight division for major caliber rifles and there are iron sight and optic sight divisions for pistol caliber carbines only. We feel that the pistol caliber divisions will bring out a whole new level of challenge and fun to an already exciting format.
TTS Official IDPA Monthly Match

NOTICE: 8 am HAMMER DOWN

Thunder gun range has agreed to let us shoot without a cease-fire (we hope) until noon.  To accommodate this change though, we need to start the Monthly Match one hour earlier.  NEW START TIME begins May 12, 2012.

This month's match is scheduled to have a total of seven separate stages.  The stages will include some variation of movers, pop-up targets, steel targets and other challenges that our weekly matches don't.
The Monthly Match is created to be more challenging and helps those shooters who compete at the regional or national level "tune-up" for upcoming matches.

Don't worry if you're not a competitive shooter though ... we guarantee that everyone will have fun shooting this match!

To get to the scores click on the "Match Info" link on the link bar along the top of this page. Then scroll down to the calendar list and click on the event you are interested in. Then click on the link called "Click Here for Match Results".

There was quite an interest in purchasing TTS Team shirts after this Saturday's match.  To do so you must contact TechWearUSA directly.

They have the basic shirt design on file and can email you the order form or take the order over the phone.  The basic shirt design cannot be changed but you can have additional logos placed on the shirt where space allows.  You may be asked to contact the company whose logo you wish to use to get their permission.
